Overview
The Darwin Pistol Club (DPC) is the largest pistol club in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. It is the only pistol club in the Darwin area that is affiliated with both Pistol Australia and IPSC Australia.
DPC is a non-profit organisation run by its dedicated Management Committee, ensuring the Club remains a community-focused and supportive environment.
The Club has a strong membership base and welcomes applications from women, juniors and seniors.
Ranges & Facilities
Our club house The club features an administration centre, a kitchen, licenced bar and indoor and outdoor social areas. Strong emphasis is placed on the social aspect of pistol shooting and the Club holds regular BBQ’s, especially after major competitions. Safety & Visitors
Shooting at the Club is conducted under strict protocols and rules. All shooting takes place under the supervision of trained Range Officers with specific rules applying to the handling and storage of handguns, both on and off the shooting ranges. Visitors wishing to observe matches are required to wear enclosed footwear, and eye and ear protection. The Club can provide a limited number of glasses and earmuffs for visitors.
Competitions
The Club runs competitions in most sanctioned disciplines available in Australia and hosts regular NT Titles. Club competitions are held every Saturday and Sunday morning as per the Club Calendar. The Club has hosted the Pistol Australia Action Pistol Nationals on four occasions, the last one being in 2023.
DPC History
The Darwin Pistol Club was established in 1965 and was located behind the Showgrounds at Shean Road, Berrimah. The club moved to the current premises in the Micket Creek Shooting Complex in 1996 when the NT Government relocated the club to make way for the construction of Tiger Brennan Drive. The relocation saw the club gain an excellent, purpose-built facility, arguably one of the best in Australia. This enables the club to offer a safe and secure environment for those interested in the sport of competitive pistol shooting, with regular competitions both within the club and between other clubs.
