Key points:
- Open days are aimed at those who have not held a H class firearm licence before.
- The cost for attending an open day is $25, which covers the use of firearms and ammunition.
- It will take at least 3 weeks for your paperwork to be finalised with the NT Firearms Unit. Check our event calendar for upcoming Open Days.
- Once you successfully register, you will be permitted to participate in a supervised shoot.

Check that you are not a ‘prohibited person’ under the NT Firearms Act from the NT Police website:
- Open the NT Police’s Licence and Permit Applications and Information page.
- Scroll down to the Types of Licences section.
- Expand the Prohibited Person option to access the documents (see screenshot).

Email us to arrange for a brief interview on a Sunday between 10:30 and 11:30.
The interview needs to be at least 3 weeks before your preferred event.
In the interview, you will receive further information and fill in the Prohibited Person Declaration form that we will submit to the NT Police on your behalf. Therefore, ensure you will be able to:
- provide a valid photo ID
- pay the $25 administration fee (non-refundable).
The Police will contact you directly if they have barred you from attending.
